West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph is gearing up to make a mark at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London as the regional side takes on England in the first match of a three-Test series on July 10.

The 24-year-old pacer rose to fame after a stunning display of fast bowling against Australia in January, where he took seven wickets for 64 runs to lead the Windies to a memorable victory in Adelaide. Despite his rookie status and limited professional experience, Joseph is aiming high and hopes to etch his name in Lord’s history with a five-wicket haul.

In a recent interview, Joseph expressed his eagerness to showcase his skills in what is anticipated to be bowler-friendly conditions at Lord’s. Despite playing only two Tests in his career, he exudes confidence and credits his teammates for their support and positive mindset.

With England veteran Jimmy Anderson set to play his final Test match, Joseph praised the legendary bowler but is determined to spoil his farewell by putting on a stellar performance.

Joseph’s admiration for fast bowlers like Mitchell Starc and Jofra Archer has inspired him to emulate their success on the field. He emphasizes the importance of adapting quickly to the conditions to make an impact.

While Joseph missed the warm-up match against a First-Class Counties Select XI due to his late arrival in England, he is expected to play a key role in the upcoming Test series. The second Test is scheduled from July 18-22, with the third Test set for July 26-30.
