Following a tragic shooting incident in Mt Pleasant, Tobago on July 4th, which led to the death of a woman, authorities have labeled it as gang-related. According to a senior police officer, there seems to be a connection to a gang-related issue in the recent spate of shootings in the area. The police are actively pursuing all available leads in this case.

During the incident, which took place at around 8.30 pm, three men aged 34, 38, and 45, were socializing at a birthday celebration at a residence on Robert Street. Suddenly, three armed men approached the house and opened fire on the group in the yard. Two victims, aside from the woman who lost her life, are currently in stable condition at Scarborough General Hospital.

The suspects quickly fled the scene via Mt Pleasant Local Road, leaving behind devastation. The deceased, identified as Desiree Lawrence from Trinidad, succumbed to her injuries while receiving medical attention. This unfortunate event occurred just days after the killing of sanitation worker Nathan Roach, 32, in the same area.

As investigations into both incidents are ongoing, the community is left shaken by these senseless acts of violence. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing those responsible to justice.
