Eminem is back in the spotlight with his latest single “Tobey,” featuring Big Sean and BabyTron, getting fans hyped for the upcoming release of his new album The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) next week on Friday, July 12th. However, fans will have to wait a little longer for the music video directed by Cole Bennett, as it’s not quite ready for release yet. But fear not, Eminem took to social media to apologize for the delay and even shared a sneak peek from the upcoming video to tide fans over.

In the clip, BabyTron can be seen walking past Eminem, who is seated on the steps of his iconic house featured in past album cover art. It’s a full-circle moment for the Detroit legend and hometown hero Big Sean, who recently shared a nostalgic tweet about buying his first Slim Shady LP with his own money.

Despite the excitement surrounding Eminem’s new music, some online reactions have stirred up rumors of diss tracks and rap beef. Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s ongoing feud may have influenced listeners to interpret Eminem’s lyrics as direct shots at Jay-Z, but Royce Da 5’9″ was quick to debunk these rumors.

While there is no denying Eminem’s success and impact on the music industry, not everyone is on board with crowning him as the best rapper to come out of Detroit. Skilla Baby from the 313 raised questions about Eminem’s current status in the city’s hip-hop scene, sparking a conversation about local recognition versus global acclaim.
