In a bizarre turn of events, a man in Britain has landed himself in hot water after brandishing a replica sword from the iconic Legend of Zelda Nintendo games on the streets.

Anthony Bray, 48, found himself on the wrong side of the law and was slapped with a four-month prison sentence and a $196 fine for “being found in possession of a bladed article in public,” Warwickshire police revealed in a recent statement.

The contentious object in question? A small replica of the Master Sword from the beloved Legend of Zelda series, boasting a 6-inch blade length. For those unfamiliar, the Master Sword holds a special place in the hearts of gamers worldwide for its ability to combat evil and obliterate mystical barriers in the virtual realm.

Even though Britain is known for its stringent gun laws, knife-related crimes are still prevalent, with over 50,000 offenses involving sharp instruments reported by police in the past year alone. Carrying knives in public without a valid reason is strictly prohibited, except for pocketknives with blades under 3 inches.

According to authorities, Bray was apprehended after surveillance footage caught him strolling through Nuneaton with the sword in hand. In his defense, Bray claimed he was simply using it as a “fidget” toy to occupy his fidgety hands.

Despite Bray’s insistent claims that he had no malicious intent, law enforcement stressed that such items could easily be perceived as dangerous by others. Sgt. Fern Spellman emphasized the need for caution when carrying potentially threatening items in public.

As a consequence of his actions, the replica Master Sword has been confiscated and destroyed. Warwickshire police underscored the severity of the situation, citing recent incidents of violence involving bladed articles in the area. The message is clear – play it safe and keep the fantasy swords in the gaming world where they belong.
