Tomas Ayala Steps Up as New General Manager of Philip Morris TT

Philip Morris TT, a subsidiary of the renowned manufacturer of L&M and Malboro cigarettes, Philip Morris International, has officially appointed Tomas Ayala as its new general manager. The announcement came through a statement released by the company on July 3.

Ayala, who began his journey with Philip Morris in 2019 following a successful stint at L’Oreal in various roles spanning scientific engagement, brand development, and commercial strategies across Latin America, had previously served as the general manager for North Central America, covering Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

According to Philip Morris, Ayala’s new role as the general manager of Philip Morris TT is part of a strategic move to enhance the company’s presence in the Caribbean and Central America region. The primary focus will be on expanding the portfolio of science-based alternatives catering to the diverse needs of adult smokers and nicotine users.

In light of this appointment, Philip Morris TT aims to position itself as an innovation hub within the Central America and Caribbean region, fostering greater investments in smoke-free products and other business aspects. Ayala’s key objective will be to drive the growth of Philip Morris TT’s initiatives in Trinidad and Tobago, solidifying its status as a pivotal hub in the region.

Ayala takes over from Sheldon Wood, who had been serving as the general manager of Philip Morris TT since 2022. With Ayala at the helm, the company is set to embark on a new chapter of growth and innovation, steering towards a smoke-free future in the region.
