Renowned singer Kim Ho-joong has made a strategic move ahead of his impending trial for a hit-and-run incident by appointing additional lawyers to his legal team. The star, who is currently facing charges under the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Crimes, has enlisted the expertise of lawyers Jeon Sang-gwi and Cho Wan-woo from the esteemed law firm Hyunjae.

In a surprising turn of events, three lawyers from the law firm Daehwan have withdrawn from the case, but lawyer Lee Ho-seon has stepped in to fill the gap. With a total of six lawyers now on board, including former Acting Prosecutor General Jo Nam-gwan and prosecutor Chu Hyung-woon, Kim Ho-joong appears to be leaving no stone unturned in preparing for his upcoming trial.

Meanwhile, Lee Kwang-deuk, the CEO of Kim Ho-joong’s agency, along with other associates also implicated in the case, have opted for a more streamlined legal representation with only two attorneys. Notably, department head Jeon, who faces charges of evidence destruction, has expressed remorse in a letter to the court, seeking leniency.

The stage is set for the first trial on July 10, where Kim Ho-joong, CEO Lee Kwang-deuk, department head Jeon, and manager Jang will face the judge. The charges stem from an incident in which Kim Ho-joong allegedly collided with a taxi while driving under the influence, before fleeing the scene. Subsequent investigations revealed a web of deception, with false confessions and attempts to shift blame.

As the case unfolds, all eyes will be on the courtroom as Kim Ho-joong and his legal team navigate the complexities of the law in pursuit of justice. Stay tuned for more updates on this high-profile trial.
