Award-winning actress Natasha Lyonne is taking the wheel once again as production for Season 2 of her hit Peacock show, Poker Face, kicks off. The talented Rian Johnson couldn’t contain his excitement as he shared a glimpse of the first day of filming on Monday, with Lyonne stepping into the director’s chair for episode two.
Drawing inspiration from classic detective shows like Columbo, Poker Face is a thrilling series that follows the fearless Charlie Cale (played by Lyonne) as she navigates the Vegas underworld, solving murders while dodging the mob. The star-studded cast of the show has featured the likes of Adrien Brody, Ron Perlman, and Chloë Sevigny, just to name a few.
Lyonne, who not only stars in the show but also serves as a writer and executive producer, has already proven her directing chops with the Season 1 episode ‘The Orpheus Syndrome’. With a nomination for both a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award for her role in the series, Lyonne’s talent is undeniable.
During a recent TV Contender event, Johnson hinted at what fans can expect in the upcoming season of Poker Face, expressing his desire to continue the show for as long as possible. He emphasized the show’s unique blend of mystery and excitement, promising more thrilling episodes filled with intriguing characters and engaging storylines.
