Chair Thrown During CEO 2024 Mortal Kombat 1 Grand Finals Raises Eyebrows

The Mortal Kombat 1 grand finals at CEO 2024 took an unexpected turn when player Alex ‘’Dyloch’’ Ruiz decided to make a memorable exit by flinging a chair into the audience. While the move may have lacked hype, it certainly caused damage, with the chair shattering a light fixture worth nearly $3,000.

Despite the chaos, Ruiz went on to win the tournament, earning a modest $565 in winnings. The organizer, Alex Jebailey, humorously tweeted about the incident, but also issued a stern warning against future outbursts.

Some viewers drew comparisons to another player known for chair-throwing, Smash Bros. pro Juan “Hungrybox” DeBiedma. The community seemed divided on whether these actions added excitement to the scene or posed unnecessary risks.

For his part, Ruiz celebrated his victory on social media, taking responsibility for the broken light fixture while demanding buffs for his character in the game. The controversy, while entertaining, serves as a reminder that sportsmanship should always be a top priority in competitive gaming.
