As Hurricane Beryl sweeps through Tobago, several banks have taken precautionary measures by temporarily closing their branches on July 1st. First Citizens (FCB) announced the closure of its Scarborough, Roxborough, and Milford Road branches to ensure the safety of both staff and customers. Scotia Bank also joined in, closing its Lowlands branch in Tobago.

Republic Bank initially planned to open its Tobago branches at 10 am but later revised its decision and announced the continued closure. The bank stated that they will provide updates on branch operations based on assessments and advice from national emergency response organizations.

To provide continued service to customers, Republic Bank is encouraging the use of its RepublicMobile and RepublicOnline platforms. Stay tuned for further updates on branch operations in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.
