The Legal Aid and Advisory Authority has announced the closure of its Tobago district office at the Caribana Building, Bacolet Street, Scarborough, on July 1 due to safety concerns amidst a red-level hurricane warning issued by the Meteorological Service on June 30.
The Meteorological Service’s 5 pm update stated that Tobago can expect deteriorating conditions from early evening on June 30 as category four hurricane Beryl approaches the southern Windwards. There is an 80 per cent chance of hurricane-force winds impacting Tobago from early morning on July 1.
The LAAA emphasized that its offices in Port of Spain, Arima, Chaguanas, and San Fernando will remain open unless otherwise stated, ensuring continuous service to clients.
