Six standout players from the recently concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 have been recognized for their exceptional performances by being named in the tournament’s team of the tournament. These individuals showcased their talent and skills on the grand stage, contributing significantly to their respective teams and leaving a lasting impression on fans.

Starting with the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma set the tone at the top of the order with his brilliant ball striking, scoring 257 runs at an impressive strike rate of 156.7. His leadership qualities and consistency with the bat were instrumental in India’s title-winning campaign, culminating in a historic victory after 17 years.

Alongside him, Rahmanullah Gurbaz of Afghanistan made crucial contributions at the top of the order, forming a potent opening partnership with Ibrahim Zadran. Gurbaz’s exceptional knocks propelled his team to the semi-finals, with standout performances against Uganda, New Zealand, Australia, and Bangladesh.

Nicholas Pooran established himself as a top batter in the format with his explosive batting style, amassing 228 runs at a strike rate of 146.16. The West Indian’s knock of 98 against Afghanistan stood out as one of the highest scores in the tournament, showcasing his prowess with the bat.

Suryakumar Yadav made his presence felt in the middle-order for India with two half-centuries and a vital 47 in the semi-final against England. His ability to perform under pressure and his spectacular catch in the final were key moments in India’s successful campaign.

Australia’s Marcus Stoinis emerged as the x-factor player for his team, delivering exceptional performances with both bat and ball. Despite Australia’s early exit, Stoinis’ contributions against Oman and Scotland highlighted his ability to shine under pressure.

Hardik Pandya played a pivotal role for India, making impactful cameos with the bat and crucial breakthroughs with the ball when needed. His performance in the final, where he stopped Heinrich Klaasen in his tracks, showcased his match-winning abilities during crucial moments.

The list also includes Axar Patel, Rashid Khan, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and 12th man Anrich Nortje, all of whom excelled in their respective roles throughout the tournament.
